The Foundation
This project was deeply personal—it was my own home.
It became an opportunity to bring every design principle into full expression. From architecture to furnishings, no detail was left untouched. Every decision was made in relationship to the whole.
The question guiding the work was simple: If you could have it all, what would you create?
Architectural Language
The home seamlessly weds the energy of a New York loft with the tranquility of country living.
Rooted in classical principles of proportion, scale, and harmony, the design is interpreted through a modern lens. Architectural lines remain uninterrupted—walls returning into window frames in soft curves, without trim—allowing the structure itself to carry the visual language.
A deliberate interplay of grandeur and restraint establishes rhythm throughout the home.
More expressive where it matters. More quiet where it does not.
Different visitors see different influences—French, Italian, modern—yet what unifies the home is not style, but proportion.
Craft & Composition
Materiality deepens the experience.
Wood, iron, marble, leather, and stone are layered with precision to create a tactile richness—refined, yet inviting. Hand-carved millwork, imported mosaics, and historically referenced furnishings bring depth and permanence to the design.
- Hand-carved Corinthian columns from Indonesia, finished in hammered tin
- European-inspired marble mosaic flooring, crafted in Pakistan
- Custom millwork establishing architectural rhythm
- Furnishings rooted in historic precedent, reinterpreted for modern living
Throughout the home, elegance and ease coexist.
Sophisticated, yet relaxed. Layered, yet disciplined.
The Experience
This is a home designed to be felt.
During its time on tour, visitors responded viscerally—drawn not to a single feature, but to the experience of the home as a whole. Emotion was not incidental. It was designed into the space from the beginning.
The home reveals itself over time—layered, intuitive, and deeply human.
“This project was intensely personal. It was my own home!”

Results
The success of the home lies in its consistency—of scale, of mass, of intention.
Architecture and interiors were developed in tandem, resulting in a unified vision where every space feels connected, yet complete in its own right.
Presented as Julian Design’s entry in the Midwest Home & Garden Luxury Home Tour, the Fox Street Residence stands as a fully realized expression of design as both art and living—balancing artistry and structure, simplicity and majesty, comfort and serenity.
The Harmony of Rooms
Each space is individually composed, yet inherently connected. Each room contributes to a larger, unified narrative—interpreted through function, light, and scale.
